Today, self-adhesive roofing membranes are produced at ever-increasing machine speeds and simultaneously at ever-higher production temperatures. Our release films must not only meet these challenges, but the final product must also have an attractive finish. This can include barrier properties against oil seepage, as well as high resistance to tar, which is necessary when the films are peeled off during application. Since the installation of the roofing membranes is carried out at extremely high temperatures, the silicone-coated film must be easily removable even at elevated temperatures.
Release films in this application area can be mono-films, films made of polymer blends, or technically sophisticated multi-layer films. Additionally, these films can be perforated to support the customer’s production process and/or perforated in multiple rows in the machine direction to be helpful in the final application.
